| Conference Championship Game 1 Goes to Leon, Thanks to Brobbey | The Leon Toltecs powered past the visiting San Francisco Pioneers, 3-2, in the opener of the Conference Championship at Toltecs Field. Leon starting pitcher Kareem Brobbey threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Toltecs now lead the series 1-0.
Had Victor Ramos not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Ramos hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Toltecs.
"Kareem was throwing free and easy," said Leon manager David Fields.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Monday, August 15th , 2039.
