| Toltecs Hammered by Hernandez, Drop Game 2 to Pioneers | The San Francisco Pioneers defeated the Leon Toltecs, 8-7, in Game 2 of the Conference Championship. Making an impact was designated hitter Jesus Hernandez, who was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win moves San Francisco into a 1-1 tie with Leon in the series.
Eddie Hernandez, who finished 4th in the UL in OPS with .905 in 2037, helped out the San Francisco cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. For the game, the left fielder drew 2 walks in 5 plate appearances.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Hernandez, "but a win in the playoffs is nothing to sniff at."
The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, August 17th , 2039 at Pioneers Park in San Francisco. | | | | |
