| Leon Takes Conference Championship in Deciding Game | In a series that had a little bit of everything, the Leon Toltecs have edged the San Francisco Pioneers.
The two rival clubs went the distance in the tightly-contested Conference Championship, with a 6-4 win in the clincher being the difference for Leon and giving them the ticket to the World Series with a 4-3 series triumph.
"We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push came to shove we were going to get it done," said Tony Guevara, who was named series MVP.
For the series, Guevara hit .333 with a .419 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 8 runs.
The Leon Toltecs will play against the Tampa Bay Sunrays in the next round. Tampa Bay won their series against the New York Empire 4 games to 1. The World Series schedule will be announced after the Conference Championship finishes. | | |  | |
